Hello I have just compiled the XFCE 4.4 RC2 and I'm impressed by the quality of the work. Finally a standard file manager who starts in less than 5 seconds ! By the way I run it with NetBSD on mac mini and I appreciate the fact it compiles and runs very well on all unix-like platforms ( not like gnome who requires HAL ) See also http://www.netbsd.org/contrib/projects.html#gnome-vfs-kqueue
Like in previous cases i created all ebuilds for new xfce4-4.4.0_rc2 (so thunar 0.5 is also there). They are *unofficial* and present only at my devspace: http://dev.gentoo.org/~moloh/ebuilds/ Sorry that You have to wait so long this time. I hope that everything is ok, and instalation would be smooth...

As usual, there are some Debian packages on
deb http://debian.corsac.net unstable/
They should work on Ubuntu too. Will test them later.
